Pilates

Pilates is a safe form of exercise evolved over many years since the original exercises were first developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900’s. There are many recognised benefits attributed to Pilates from reducing the severity and recurrence of back pain to improving sporting performance. In recent years Pilates has become more popular as a general form of exercise and is enjoyed by a continually increasing population world wide.

All our Pilates classes are taught by Chartered Physiotherapists who have undertaken post graduate training in Pilates adding an in depth understanding to any physical injury or impairment you may have.

Whether you have a specific goal or are recovering from injury or surgery our Pilates instructors have the knowledge to adapt each exercise to your need. Our maximum of 10 participants per class allows individual correction and progression.

Although not a requirement for joining a class it may be of benefit for those new to Pilates to have an initial one to one session where a postural assessment and discussion of personal goals are considered as well as an introduction to Pilates exercises.

Our Pilates classes are delivered in our fantastic new studio in Peebles.  By being based in Peebles we are ideally located for the local community and for those within travelling distance in the Scottish Borders.  We believe we are the premier Pilates provider in Peebles and the Scottish Borders.
